http://www.mohiphopblog.com/2017/04/interview-lucy-batch.html
For those who are familiar with the up and coming music scene in KC, Lucy Batch has been seen everywhere from the studios to the local shows. But the question everyone on the outside ask is, what does she do? So I reached out to get some answers and to learn more about her. Check out the interview below.
Tell me about yourself how did you get your stage name, where are you from, etc?
I'm from KCMO. 816 born and raised. My Stage Name... Henry Logan actually gave me my name. With my last name being “Batcheller” he just shortened it to “Batch” and that's really how it all started, it's funny because people at my school all caught on and It definitely stuck.
What would you say is your job title?
Explaining exactly what I do can be difficult because it’s a number of different things. My main focus is artist management. I manage 3 artist in Kansas City & it really all started because I see potential in a lot of people, and I want to turn that into success. I wanna see people win.
Who and/or what motivates you?
Who Motivates me? My family of course. They are some of my biggest supporters. I can't thank them enough for everything they do for me. Aside from my family I get majority of my drive and motivation from Gee Watts, FGF (Feel Good Family), KJ Dillard, Grand Marquiis, Kye Colors, Dettsa, Rory Fresco, OTTP, Bam Keith, Star B, Kutty Bear, Everyone at 825 studios and Project Laing, Dope City & so many more. Kansas City really keeps me motivated at all times through everyone's artistry, creativity and drive. We really want to see the city eat.
What would you say is your biggest accomplishment to date?
My biggest accomplishment would have to be putting together SENSE with the best team I could possibly ever worked with. Putting together a show that broadcast artist, designers, filmmakers, painters for a city to see is honestly the most humbling feeling. Being able to connect with people outside of kansas city was crazy. I went all the way to DC to have the show that me and the rest of the team had been working on for months. Ryan, Ariana, Nabila, Lukar, Nana and so many more people apart of the event that really made it the best it could be but extremely glad I could build such strong relationships with those people. They will be family for forever. Be sure to keep up with the SENSE movement its soon to blow up.
What projects are you currently working on?
Multiple. I Can't speak on many of them yet, but just be on the lookout for everything coming this summer. Its definitely looking up.
What changes would you like to see made in the music/entertainment industry?
Changes? I wanna see the drive in people more. I want to see people want it because they deserve it, it's all some of us have & i feel like some people can just be involved for the money and the stereotypical bullshit. Money will come regardless if you working hard. Be humble. Remember what made you start in the first place.
What makes you different or sets you apart?
Im young. 17 years old, Still in highschool. not many people can say they are doing what im doing at this age.
What labels/companies are you apart of?
825 Studios
CutxSewn
SENSE
FGF
What do you do in your free time? Any hobbies?
In my free time i'm usually working on everything music. That’s really all I ever want to do.
Anything else you want to add/ Any Shoutouts? What’s your Social Media?
Shoutout everyone in Kansas City who’s working hard, and wants to see the city win. The hustle goes unnoticed. All Love 2017.
